Tata Curvv EV
Tata's coupe-SUV goes long-range electric
Tata Curvv EV review
The Curvv EV is Tata's attempt to give the compact-SUV electric space a sportier silhouette, wrapping a coupe-style roofline around the company's dedicated acti.ev architecture. It pairs two battery sizes with a usable real-world range, faster charging and a longer feature list than most rivals at the price. For buyers who want an electric SUV that looks different from the boxy crowd without losing practicality, the Curvv EV makes a genuinely interesting case in a crowded segment.
Underneath the swooping roofline sits Tata's acti.ev skateboard platform, offered with 45kWh and 55kWh battery packs. The larger pack delivers a claimed figure of just over 500km, which translates to a dependable 380-430km in mixed city and highway driving. Power comes from a single front-mounted motor making around 165 bhp, enough for brisk, quiet progress around town and confident overtakes on the highway. DC fast charging can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 40 minutes, and the regenerative braking offers multiple levels that you can adjust on the move.
Inside, the cabin feels modern and reasonably upmarket. A 12.3-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster anchor the dashboard, supported by a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof and Level 2 ADAS on top variants. The coupe roof does eat into rear headroom for taller passengers, but legroom is acceptable and the boot is surprisingly generous for the body style. Material quality is a clear step up from older Tatas, though a few cabin plastics and switch actions still feel built to a price.
On the road, the Curvv EV rides with a maturity that suits its positioning. The suspension soaks up broken surfaces well, body control is tidy for an SUV-coupe, and the steering is light enough for the city while firming up adequately at speed. It is not a sharp driver's car, but it is composed and easy to live with. The main caveats are familiar EV ones: real-world range drops with hard air-conditioning use and highway speeds, and public fast-charging availability still varies sharply by city.
Value is where things get nuanced. The Curvv EV undercuts pricier electric SUVs while offering more equipment than cheaper ones, but it is not cheap in absolute terms. Tata's wide service network, established EV ownership ecosystem and competitive warranty help offset the premium, making it easier to recommend to first-time EV buyers than many newer entrants.

Owner reviews
Turns heads everywhere
I picked the 55kWh and easily get 380km in my daily city-plus-highway mix. The design gets compliments constantly and the cabin feels premium for the money. Wish public fast chargers near me were more reliable, but home charging solves that.
Great car, mind the rear roof
Comfortable and quiet, and the ventilated seats are a blessing in summer. My only gripe is rear headroom for taller passengers because of the sloping roof. Running costs are a fraction of my old petrol SUV.
Solid EV with minor niggles
Performance is more than enough for daily use and the ADAS features work well on highways. A couple of the interior plastics feel cheap and the touchscreen lagged once or twice. Overall I'm happy with the value.

Tata Curvv EV — frequently asked questions
What is the real-world range of the Tata Curvv EV?
The 55kWh pack claims just over 500km on test cycles, but expect a dependable 380-430km in mixed real-world driving, less if you run the AC hard and drive mostly on highways.
How long does the Curvv EV take to charge?
On a DC fast charger it goes from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 40 minutes. A home AC wallbox typically takes 7-9 hours for a near-full charge, ideal for overnight top-ups.
Which battery option should I choose?
Pick the 45kWh pack if your driving is mostly city-based and budget-conscious. Choose the 55kWh pack if you regularly do longer highway runs and want more range buffer.
Does the Curvv EV get a sunroof and ADAS?
Yes. Higher variants offer a single-pane electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats and Level 2 ADAS with features like adaptive cruise control and lane assist.
How practical is the boot given the coupe roof?
Despite the sloping roofline the boot is generous for the segment, easily handling weekend luggage. Rear headroom is the bigger compromise for very tall passengers.
What warranty does Tata offer on the battery?
Tata provides a long battery and motor warranty in line with its EV range, typically covering the battery for several years or a high kilometre limit, backed by a wide nationwide service network.
